Bridges and I are not great friends. I don’t break out in sweats or have a phobia that requires therapy but I just do not generally like them. Mainly just the driving over them part. Probably crossed too many rickety ones in my day. Still here, obviously, but just not a fan of having to leave a perfectly good vehicle and swim to shore should one give out. And in my defense, road and bridge funds are not exactly heaping full in most parts of this country. Rural-area water crossings are truly hard hit and often left to time and decay. A simple sign that tells me the weight limit does not give me any assurance of its safety. Am I over-thinking? Nah. I have pictures.
But first the drive….

The warning you get that water crossings are imminent — grass grows on the road, a curve ahead, bluffs on your right, and downturn in the road. Yes, I told the hubby I would gladly walk rather than ride but he did not choose to listen to me. ( I hear your chuckles out there!)

I survived obviously, but the route to this bridge is ingrained in my mind for-E-Ver and I will walk next time if we are required to cross.

Lovely scenery as usual. I share your apprehension around bridges and overpasses because unfortunately it usually takes a tragedy to motivate public officials to take infrastructure maintenance seriously.

Great pictures. I love the barn eating the equipment, that made me laugh. The bridge is interesting. I like bridges, but that one does look questionable.
