It’s time to let you in on my big news!!! My mother joined my Etsy shop this summer and I am very proud to display her items for sale!
Raggedy Ann by Eileen
Hand Embroidered Flour Sack Towels
She’s my teacher when it comes to sewing and embroidery, canning, and making jelly & jam. In our community, her jellies and jams are much sought after year round. She’s currently working on some Cherry jam. It won’t sit on her shelf long. We have our first craft show on August 30th and I would take bets on whether she sells out. Cherry and Gooseberry are her top sellers.
So local people, get in line early. You won’t be disappointed!
My next question….Can I get her to sell Jams online??? We shall see. 🙂
Have YoU? ever seen a flying fish? Some outdoor playtime gave us the opportunity to make some. They look like this….
Ours are made from recycled magazines. Maybe I’ll make a tutorial?? That would be a first.
Here’s what happens when you toss them up. They float & flutter in downward spirals. This gave us an opportunity to experience a little Science & Sensory all in one! And after much Large Muscle movement and some emphasis on the letter F, we moved on to some more tranquil play. Sand & Funnels
A June highlite for all you partiers out there! This one is for preschoolers so you may move along if it doesn’t appeal to your age group 🙂 We came upon our theme with the purchase of Flat Stanley Goes Camping.
This creation was our impromptu ‘campfire’. There was much safety talk before the festivities began as we took a time for that Teaching Moment.
Games to be played around the campfire…..
Campfire stories of course
Marshmallow toss (we used cotton balls)
A little outdoor play with the parachute is mandatory when weather permits with our rendition of “How Many Do You Want to Be?”(a counting game) As well as our “Weather of the Day”, after all, camping is greatly impacted by the weather, right?!
We have to send a big THanK YoU! to Weston’s mommy for providing our camping-style treat. Ice Cream Sundaes. Topping choices were chocolate, strawberry syrup, whipped topping and sprinkles. Yummo!
Been doing some deep cleaning lately. Got a bag of fabric about a year ago from an auction and had it in my utility room waiting for a good wash. Spent the last couple days getting that accomplished. Here’s the before in a vacume sealed bag……
Here’s an after being washed view of the top of the pile…………..
Here’s the bottom.
All for $1!
There was also a tiny bottle of Jack Black hidden in a little crocheted bag. This lady who had collected these gems was deceased and the family was having the auction. I love that she had the stash of fabric but I love it even more that she had her little secret bottle hidden away. And no, I don’t have a secret bottle just fyi. 😉
