Hello! I’m Stephanie Finnell and I’ve been playing the 5-string banjo since the age of 9. I was instructed by the late Ruth Bockelman, a local teacher who was remarkable and dedicated her life to teaching string music. Since her passing, I have felt compelled to take up her torch and give lessons to anyone who is willing to learn. I have always enjoyed playing music both for my own enjoyment as well as for others. I have competed in numerous M.A.M.A. music competitions in my younger years, played for radio as well as many churches, retirement homes, clubs/organizations and events throughout my lifetime.

I welcome students from 9 years old to 95 years young.

Individual Lessons

I offer 30 minute sessions with students. If you can read music, we will continue with that format. If you are older and not sure about reading music, tablature is for you and very easy to learn. Fees are payable at time of lesson.
