Quieting Down/ SundaySampler

The Sunday Sampler Badge

It’s quieting down in the big town today. The state fair is winding down and except for the car racing this evening, it’ll be business as usual around here. Tons of campers leaving, concessions cashing out, and the highway patrol quietly retreating to their own jurisdictions. Thankfully, the internet was not really hindered this year. That is a first. Time to applaud the powers-to-be. For me personally, this meant I have been able to keep up better with the label-making in the shop! No traipsing to the USPS counter for purchasing shipping in person. Woot! Woot!

Some other accomplishments this week were adding some listings to the shop. A few vintage costume patterns are just the start of a plethora I have collected. I don’t know that I’ll get them all listed this fall, but you never know?

I have others but will let you click here to see the Costume section if you are interested. More patterns are to be added next week. Your hearts are greatly appreciated!

In the sewing room, I’ve been happily sandwiching that American Heritage Sampler. It is ready for the quilter and after this is posted, that’s where you’ll find me! It is a big one and I dare say I’ll be working on it for several days.

Also in those moments I just need to do mindless sewing, I’ve accumulated a few string quilt blocks. I’ve decided to make a table runner with these. Photos below show the paper backing that I’ll be pulling off before construction and the border fabric I’ve auditioned.

Not promising this is The One yet. But it’s a contender. I don’t think it is going to compete too much with the blocks. Come back next time to see my final decision. Until then, thanks for stopping by!
