Took a full stop on working any new projects today. Instead, I decided it was time to do some repair on an old fave that has been through the wash quite a few times. It served me well as a furniture covering back in the days of childcare and so it kind of takes me back. “Sentimental” sums it up.

I called it Irish Fantasy. Sometimes we quilters name our quilts. This one was hand appliqued with shapes I made after watching one of those late 90’s to early 2000’s quilt shows. Someone had demonstrated how to cut freezer paper into shapes and I went along with it. This was my result. In fact I made this one and 2 more. They get some repair treatment before too much longer, but this one was in the greatest need.

You can tell it has a ‘daisy’-ish design in the left-side, solid, square block and what’s left of a ‘Rays’ shape is on the right.Hand stitching versus machine quilting is not the same in appearance. But one might say the machine stitching holds up longer; which is why I’m repairing with the quilter.

And I worked on more of those sandwiches as my top thread was taking turns being a pain with the bottom thread.
