Landed In My Lap/ Sunday Sampler

The Sunday Sampler Badge

I’m sharing a nice little review and photo this Sunday as a Sample of how wonderful my customers are! But first a little ‘review’ from Etsy’s AI. And I quote:

Repeat buyers stayed at zero. Your repeat buyers have been stuck at zero in May, June, and July 2026, so the recent lift is coming from one-time purchases rather than returning customers. With a one-country customer mix and only 1.0% of revenue from the top market, the shop looks reliant on fresh demand instead of loyalty.

Well then! haha No, I don’t sell to other countries. Never have. And it’s the end of summer, Etsy. Folks are busy saving up for the coming Holiday Season. So any-hoo, after this little bit of info, I proceeded to ask AI just what the solution is to this review. Interestingly, it had some decent ideas. One idea just landed in my lap yesterday from a previous customer. The AI suggestion was to make complimentary items. And that is exactly what request came through!

The good Lord works in his own perfect timing so should I be surprised? I was. Sometimes, you just can’t help it.

So the opportunity that landed was from a customer who shared a photo of her recent purchase. Here is the pic:

Her review: “Beautiful beautiful handsewn potholders. Craftsmanship excellent. Thank you!” Isn’t that just so kind?! Small Etsy shops benefit with good reviews by improving search visibility, building buyer trust, and supporting eligibility for special seller programs. So, please give those reviews!

She purchased a pair of these trivets/hotpads made from some Kaffe Fassett fabric I received in a Mystery Box. (More on that another time.) The customer contacted me to tell me she was very pleased and would like some matching coasters if I have more of that fabric. She also wanted more trivets if by chance there were even more leftovers. And yes I did, so it was also her lucky day. –And I found the fabric is still available by the yard so I’ll be waiting at the mailbox for the package. Here is a coaster pic….

5 x 5 1/2 coaster.

I did some fabric maneuvers to get the order complete as there’s that extra little half inch included. Better to have too much than too little. Good beverage size and absorbent. And, just like my hotpads, double the batting sandwiched between 2 layers of fabric.

Appreciate you stopping by this Sunday and hope to see you again Tuesday for more Sewing Room happenings.
