Country Pines

Headed back to a spot I’ve previously taken you. That is the southern detour we took out of St. Louis where we found several barns. Today will be no different. Hope you’ll enjoy this more seasonal style of barn and doors. It’s for those of you who start decorating early. I may have opened a can of Debate.

The Country Pine Christmas Tree Farm has lots of little baby trees behind it, but I expect come December, there’ll be many others surrounding this barn-style business. So I thought it best to photograph it ahead of time. The white barn in the first photo had the old cedar tree in the foreground- or what’s left of it- and made me think of days past when I used to go on a tree hunt with my Grandmother. We always picked out cedar trees off her property to drag home for decorating. All those evergreens smell sooooo good!!

Also, thinking it’s about time to get back to some Inez’s Clippings. Love sharing her tidbits of wit & wisdom. Hope I can make this happen.

A new reveal coming up soon. Getting the binding ready as of this writing and hoping for some sunshine without strong winds to get good photos. The quilt is another acquired top from an online purchase and I have really enjoyed completing these quilts! At least in my book, there’s something to be said about saving quilts for other’s to love. Below is a 6-second video of some ruler work. My work station needs a bit of tidying up so please don’t judge 😉

Some of the last quilting stitches being taken.

Thanks for stopping by this week for my Saturday post contribution to Thursday Doors. Please stop over at Dan’ @NoFacilities for more wonderful door entries around the globe. You won’t be disappointed!

  1. That ruler work made me dizzy! It’s all so mysterious to me — how anyone controls needle and thread like that by hand or machine. I too have memories of shopping for Christmas trees, but they aren’t at all about cutting trees with my grandmother! I cannot imagine how wonderful the fragrance of a tree that fresh. A Christmas tree barn sounds just right!

    • Thank you! I sure miss having a real tree. I have to admit that there’s this ‘baby cedar tree’ in back of my house that I’ve let grow secretly hoping hubs won’t chop it down. But it’s probably in a bad spot so we shall see. haha

    • Thank you! Each brand of quilt machines requires different ruler thicknesses & specific feet. But now I’m getting technical. It’s just that I would hate to have anyone’s sewing machine messed up by not mentioning those 2 things. Thank you for dropping by!
