I chose the oldest building in Lindsborg, Kansas for this week’s Thursday Doors post. Known as the Stone House, it was built in 1877 by stone masons hired by Nils Magnus Jonasson Elmqvist. He was a watchmaker. I would imagine he was one of the few around this part of Kansas back in those days. The 2-story house has 20-inch thick walls made of Dakota sandstone. As for the insulation value in this home, my bet is that it’s super cozy in the winter and especially cool in the summer! Stenhuset (Stone House) is available as an Airbnb rental.

I may have a couple more posts from Lindsborg to share in the coming weeks. Hope you check back in and also visit Dan @ No Facilities for how to see more Thursday Doors posts from around the globe.

That stone house looks like it is worth staying at as an Airbnb.

It is very nice inside according to the photos I saw. If I were not on the road today I would have linked them. But you know, bumpy highways can cause issues 😬 Thanks for dropping by!

A wonderful share indeed! It is so great that the house was built to last and that it is still in use today. I does look very cosy. Great share. I very much enjoyed it!

Another LOL with the banjoke. I believe I had similar requests for my piano at one time. 20-inch walls, you say? That’s amazing.
