This week I’m applauding Missouri Century Farms here on Thursday Doors. This is an avenue I’ve been wanting to travel – no pun intended- for a long time here on the blog. Thanks again to my youngest daughter for her photo contribution. The University of Missouri Extention and the MU College of Agriculture have awarded certificates to families in Missouri with the fine distinction of being owned by the same family for 100 years or more. This program began in 1976 and each year opens applications for new members to apply. I personally think this is such an honor for American family farmers. Such an venerable way to be recognized.

Cooper County has several Barn quilts along the Boonslick Barn Trail. This quilt was donated to the owners from their children as a gift. And yes, I have made a bear paw quilt block before. Some black bear information and the quilt photo are here. But to see more Thursday Doors posts, click here to visit Dan at No Facilities

That quilt block is beautiful.
I’d be so scared to bump into that bear statue in the night.

I love barns, and that’s a lovely barn quilt. The carved bear makes quite a statement.
