This church’s doors opened in 1908. Messiah Evangelical Lutheran was founded when, in the words of its webpage states, “a rising generation of youth, while mostly fluent in the language and customs of their Swedish immigrant ancestors, yearned to worship in their own idiom.” Being comfortable with people at church is a big deal. It’s how they attract new members. Great food for thought for churches across all generations.
I’m comfortable showing you their doors and I hope you enjoy this week’s showing from the campus of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.

I hope your enjoyed today’s offering to Thursday Doors challenge. Please take time to visit Dan at No Facilities and also see the list of doors from around the world. So many great sites!
That’s an impressive church. What a beautiful day you had. I love the deep red bricks against the blue sky.

Cathy, just read your comment on Manja’s blog – it’s frightening when babies have fevers! Bless you for doing that job! Love the square tower here of the Luthern church:) Rest well in the weekend, my Friend!

Aww thank you for your kind words ☺️ it’s been rough when parents work an hour or more away. Not wanting them to risk life or limb when you know they’re worried. But then the babies are needing their parents. It’s quite a tightrope at times. But the good days far outnumber the rough ones thank goodness. Thank you for visiting!

What a pretty building. Those steps look so white against the dark colour of the walls. Hopefully they are not scrubbed by hand.

Bricks are a major part of human history. I imagine that trillions of bricks have gone into building construction over the millennia.
