Travesty Resolved/ Tuesday Threads

I discovered a travesty this Tuesday morning. It reminded me of my mother’s favorite saying, “Nothing good happens on Tuesdays”. And it has a history of being true in our little family. But we also like to try making lemons out of lemonade to allay this little superstition. And today I found our little Russian Blue pouting. Here she is perched on my quilt-sandwiching table giving me ‘the look’.

The Russian Blue “How dare you” look.

I had needle and thread whip-stitching her play mouse back together and I can just imagine her thoughts as I mended. Each time my hand moved wrong, it let out a little squeak. See the photos below of the before and after.

As I stated in the caption, the little, round object is the device I needed to sew back into the mouse. I’m just thankful she’s not into eating these types of objects or this would be a very different type of post. We were told recently the cost of removing objects from a cat’s stomach and the healing timeframe. It’s not a pleasant thing and my sympathies to anyone whose had to endure that ordeal.

After some housekeeping, I got into working on the fun project below. I am super excited to get this finished up by next week. Company’s coming to town and I have to make sure this gets delivered to the birthday boy who is turning 3!!!

The fabric is vintage but it sure is holding up its bright colors well! I’ve been holding on to this fabric for a good long time. It’s definitely from the 90’s. (Hard to accept that era as vintage) I decided to trace the lines of the artwork and then do some echo quilting for extra durability.

Thanks for your time today here at Katy Trail Creations. Hope you’ll also stop over at the Etsy shop to see what we have available for gifting! Til next time,
