Cornstalk Quilting /Tuesday Threads

I have a simple share this Tuesday. Not quite finished with any single project, as is my norm. But in defense of needing to work on my skills, I decided to drag out a book that’s full of ideas and I chose this one.

This is #43 in the book “365 Free Motion Quilting Designs” by Leah Day and named Television Aerial. The description makes sense to me. I grew up with the tv antenna and 3 basic channels. But I thought of another description as it lends the right look to the fabric I was quilting. Imagine looking through a row of field corn and you will, hopefully, have an idea of what I was thinking.

My rows aren’t as closely stitched as the ones in the book and my ‘leaves’ are all hanging as you’d expect in a row of corn. I am a bit weary of the meandering stitches I’ve been doing lately and I thought this was a fun stitch to use with the fall themed fabric.

Hope you enjoyed today’s post and come back again to see what’s happening in the sewing room!
