We are fortunate in our area to have some history that has survived for over 200 years. And last year, on May 18, 2025, the Pleasant Green United Methodist Church celebrated its 200th birthday! I am pleased to share with you our photos from visiting this church back in March. The skies were gray and dreary, but this church stood out so well. A great time to take advantage is in early spring with no leaves to interrupt the view. Fun Fact: this church is located along the Katy Trail which was formerly known as the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. Hope you enjoy!

According to a bit of online research, this church in Cooper County is not the oldest surviving and active church. I think this is a little nudge to get out and find the others. Hope time and weather will cooperate with dear hubs & I to get this accomplished. Until then, I am giving you a little nudge to head over to Dan @NoFacilities to see what all the Thursday Doors gang is up to! Wonderful door entries each week await!

Wonderful church and photos! I love the view that you like as well, with the church and its doors framed by the bare branches of the tree. Thank you for the additional information on the church’s history as well.

This looks like a larger version of the church I grew up attending. That was also a Methodist Church. It’s a wonderful church and cemetery. I’m impressed that it’s been supported and maintained for 200 years.
