Sew Slow @Meetings/Sunday Sampler

I got out of my comfort zone this weekend. Anyone who knows me understands it’s like pulling teeth to get me involved in a big social setting. I’m terrible at these things. At least until I arrive.

Thankfully I did arrive and met up with a fellow blogger friend of about 20 years. This was our first in-person meeting. Let’s start with – She’s in town every year in May. She arrives with her husband where they attend and help with the Blacksmith Convention here. BAM is the group’s acronym for Blacksmith Association of Missouri. We’ve watched each other’s daughters marry, watched her and my dear hubs survive cancer, and we both support our quilting habit. Including having too much fabric and more than ample sewing machines. Her Singer collection is delightful!!

Rather than go on and on about my failings at meeting prior to this, (I failed in epic proportions), I am going to share some photos of us and the goings-on at the Missouri State Fairgrounds where this all happened.

Thanks so much to my blogger friend, Patty, for the wonderful tour of the exhibits! She was working the Boutique and even told me where to find her. Duh! I should have brought my purse! Blaming it on the nerves. There were soooo many cool things to purchase. I deeply regret not getting those beautiful handpainted notecards. They were gorgeous!! And I will be dragging my hubs in with me next time.

So whatever does one give away to a dear friend in these circumstances??? Well I chose a bundle, or “bouquet” of panhandle cozies like the ones below. I mean, it was May Day, right?? Except I included a few Team Fabric ones that felt appropriate. I’ve had some listings in the shop with these in the past. Maybe they’ll pop up again?

A selection I made up for a church friend to choose from.

Thank you so much for reading my latest shenanigans here along the Katy Trail. hint: The State Fairgrounds are adjacent to the Katy Trail. Until next time,

    • It is a big event every year and held in the Swine Pavillion building which is an open air, covered brick building. Perfect for pounding those forges and letting the sparks fly lol Thank you for stopping by! Have a great rest of your day 🙂
