Tension Talk

I’m pretty sure I have an affinity for yellow and shades of that color. Most likely because it’s not a color I can wear. I don’t know why my mind works like that. But anyway, I have a nearly finished project for this week to share. And as always there’s some story to go along with it. Lets start with my word of the week. Tension.

Before I was able to start quilting, I had some tension issues to navigate. The bobbin case has to be adjusted whenever you switch thread types or brands. None are the same in my experience. The scraps above served me well and they will eventually become a nice little hotpad or trivet. It’ll be for gifting. Licensed fabric can be sold until it’s turned into a finished item. In case you didn’t know, now you do. Don’t let the fabric police find you doing the wrong thing. It’s a big pain….as in headache tension.

Above are my notes to self written on the inside of the back cover. I have a lot of patterns written down in the front part of this notebook that I’ve developed over time. Super secret ninja stuff. But the notes keep my tension at a minimum as I don’t have to keep looking for answers elsewhere. Some stuff you just need at your fingertips.

The order of things shown below. Captions included with a each photo.

It’s been a chilly weekend here. Nothing like they’re about to get out East. But enough to keep me from wanting to go out. I’m just glad that we have a working furnace after our heat pump went out. Ug! So in closing, how do you keep tension at bay? Quilting, of course!
