Kansas Troubles is another Civil War block chosen for the Letter K in the Challenge. In the history of Missouri and Kansas, there has been much animosity calling us Missourians “Bushwackers” while we in turn call them “Redleggers”. This Civil War era name-calling continues on and spills into the college sports arena between The University of Missouri/MU and the University of Kansas/KU. As our eldest is attending KU, we’ve kind of put all that aside for this momma’s sanity.

Plus I must give KU its propers as they had a nearly pristine track record in Basketball up until this game, the final one of the season. In truth, I would have liked to see them move to the Final Four. Just not meant to be.


This block can make a big impact with some fancy quilting stitches. Love it!

We lived 20 minutes from Allen Field House and went to many a game there rooting the Hawks on to BB victory. We still watch them from NH and Rock Chalk Jayhawk. 🙂 However, all of our nieces and nephews are KState Wildcats. It is also funny, that KU rules the BB court and State rules the football field. 🙂 I remember they use to say the good (KU), the bad (KState), and the ugly (MU). 🙂
