New Doc, New Drive/ Thursday Doors

Badge 2024

We’ve had our share of driving to medical appointments and quite honestly, I do believe we’ve worn the path thin. Thin, that is on finding new doors. But alas! A new path has been broken and there were barns! Even with my late post for this week’s Thursday Doors, I hope you’ll enjoy a couple finds I have to share.

Old vs New

The characters of each of these is drastically different. But it’s pretty great to see them side by side. If you’ve never been fortunate enough to see some of the living spaces carved out of a new metal utility barn, it would be a big surprise to you. We have a photographer/friend who has a made a studio and home inside one of these and it’s quite the cozy space. I’d venture to say there’s probably one in the front corner of this on judging by the set of windows shown. Maybe offices if nothing else? But none-the-less, a bit of info for this post for those unaware.

Barn Complex

I couldn’t fit all the things in one. But I captured the doors, even if there is a bit of fencing in the foreground. In winter, this would be a great monochromatic view. I’d prefer not to do this drive then if we get that choice. Sorry, not sorry.

Thanks for visiting and hope you’ll take time to visit Dan @NoFacilities who’s back from a break. You won’t be sorry for that venture! Catch you tomorrow for another Sunday Sampler!

  1. These are great photos. I love barns, regardless of how they are used.

Somewhere on I-35 between Ames, IA and MSP, there’s a home made from a large circular storage bin on a farm. I’d love to see inside.
