Eight Ways to….Tuesday/ Tuesday Threads

I’ve been able to do some sewing to replace potholders for the shop. This patriotic style is gaining traction, naturally, for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations this summer. Barbecues, picnics, and other gatherings will usually include food of some kind. These will be a cute accent. And they are made with a hard-to-find, vintage fabric. I’ve got a few cut out and ready to finish as I get a chance. But there are a few in the shop ready to ship as of this writing.

Another accomplishment this week are the quilt blocks for the American Heritage Sampler project. I have finished 8 more this week, as the title hints at. I have a couple new projects coming up that I’d like to finish by July 4 so I’ve been trying to burn the midnight oil on this quilt. I look forward to sharing them in future posts. But first are the blocks number 13 through 19.

I’m about ready to start cutting out sashing and have to make a decision about all the little cornerstones on each row. My blocks will most likely not all measure the same even after squaring them up so it might make life easier just to do a simple, solid row of fabric. But that’s still up in the air. Stay tuned to see how this all works out. But until then I have a screenshot of all the blocks finished this far for your viewing pleasure.

19 Blocks out of 25

‘Wrinkles’ are not part of the quilting deal. You can tell which blocks I starched and which ones I didn’t. A subject for another day. Til then, so glad you stopped by for a visit & wishing you a wonderful rest of your day!
