Freight Depot

Price of another day trip to St. Louis was a detour on the back roads to avoid road construction. But bonus are the doors you discover along the way. I’ll gladly pay that price 😉

A surviving old freight or cargo depot along the rails at Truesdale, Missouri. Father of this town was William Truesdail. But the name eventually changed to the current spelling. On July 4, 1857, the first train arrived here. The Northern Missouri Railroad built a switchyard and depot here from land purchased from John Woodlon, one of the oldest residents of the day. Today it has a population of around 850 residents.

Some other drive-by pics below on this detour.

Thanks so much for stopping by for this week’s Thursday Doors entry. Hosted by Dan @NoFacilities, where you can visit for more doors from around the world.
