This week I have a small quilt shop to send a shout out to! Just wanted to get right to the point as it’s another Thursday Doors on a Saturday for me. I’ll get it together one of these days. But if I could’ve taken more interior photos without looking like someone from the news, I would have. This home-turned-shop is a beauty! And so are the fabrics inside of it. But for the sake of Doors, I’m sticking with that topic to start at least. Fabrics are later.
This lovely home was built in 1884. I’m 99% sure that plaque by the twin doors is the date. I have to wonder if the porch was once a wrap-around. But I’m no architect so I’ll just have to ponder on it. Here are a couple inside pics.

The plaque reads “House of Loveland Established Sept. 24, 1977.” Nice piece of history preserved. And the woodwork!! I was clearly not to pass that garment rack so I honored boundaries. But wouldn’t that be a wonderful sitting spot right under that window?? Coffee cup and some hand quilting. Bliss!
Now the reason for the shop visit was to find a match for a border on a quilt I was gifting. And it was a perfect color match thankfully. Below is the pic of the recipients of my Rail Fence Star quilt using a jelly roll of BonVoyage fabric line by Moda. The jelly rolls were from another quilt shop and the pattern is from Missouri Star Quilts. I clearly support all the quilt places that I can. Especially since losing that J****** store. I refuse to name them anymore in writing. sorry not sorry. & yes I’m still petulant about it.
Another wedding quilt in the books. This is my lovely niece and her husband. Aren’t they adorable?! Wishing them many, many years of happiness!
For more wonderful door posts, please head on over to Dan’s @NoFacilities to see all the entries.

The quilt is amazingly beautiful, as is the house and the doors. I doubt the porch wrapped around. The turret is a signature element and I’ve never seen a porch in front of them. I don’t know how old the house is, but the smaller porch on the left of the turret might have been to protect people entering and existing from a carriage coming from or heading to a carriage house in the back. That’s my guess, but I have nothing to back that up.

I appreciate the insight! I believe the carriage house would have definitely been a thing. And I see what you’re saying about the porch. Makes sense to me.

Handsome architecture, and gorgeous quilt. Yes, I try not to mention Jxxxx either, but it still irks me. We were left with nada in this area except for extremely high end quilt shops which is wonderful for a special project but not so good for a small project or crafting something. I recently had to order some notions from Amazon. Hate it.
