On Lincoln Street + Extra Stuff

2024Badge

I was sorry to miss last Thursday Doors but catching up on some Etsy sewing took over my time. I’m still not in the clear but I was able to make all my shipping timelines. Nobody wants their packages to arrive late so I feel good about my efforts.

This week I’m entering a couple places located on Lincoln Street in Lindsborg, Kansas. I have yet to deplete my stash from there so we are going to keep on with this bunch until it’s done. It truly is a lovely little gem in central Kansas and I would encourage anyone to put it on their to-see list.

This first home is at 226 West Lincoln Street. Here is a bit of info from Wikipedia…..

The brick, two-story, Second Empire style house was built from the spring to the summer of 1887, and was originally built as the residence of Dan Johnson. It sits on a plot of 0.39 acres of land.[2] The D. Johnson house was a source of community pride and its construction seemed at times to be viewed almost as an obligation of the merchant to his community. It was added to the National Historic Register on March 19, 1998.

I am sorry there were no real good doors to see other than the garage variety. But I think these old homes are worth sharing. Next up, a corner door that I may have shared before, but we still like it a lot.

First photo is thru the tinted window so we went around the block. Ron’s walking much better but at that time, only shorter distances. Speaking of which…. we had a really, wonderful, early Christmas gift this year. I’ll let the photo do the talking. I can say is this, God Is Good!!

Text from our Nurse Practitioner

This is Ron’s last bone marrow biopsy for a long, long time! We are still working on strengthening, getting labs back to normal ranges, weaning off the transplant meds and now have entered the re-vaccination phase. He has to get all the baby vaccines and had his first batch of 6 shots yesterday. Three shots in each arm. I do not envy those sore arms! But bless his heart, he still did dishes last night!! My hero!!

That’s about it for this Thursday Doors. I have a little sewing stuff following so if you’re not into that, go check out more Doors over at Dan’s @NoFacilities.

The first item, Royal Gift Set is yet available in the Etsy store here. The chicken quilt my mother-in-law asked me to finish for her friend. The last item is heading out in a package for a penpal this weekend. Hope she likes it 🙂

A knod to local deer hunters who didn’t scare their deer onto the interstates.

  1. I love the photos. What that house didn’t have in doors, it made up for with brackets and that Mansard roof. The next batch has a corner door – awesome!

I’m glad to hear Ron got some good news. I hope it keeps coming.
