5450 Arsenal, St. Louis

The Badge

Just a block down from RecoVET HealthCare is where you’ll find the following fire station. Fire Station #35 in St. Louis, Missouri is located in the Southwest Garden Neighborhood. So named due to its proximity west of the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Built in 1895 with bricks of either red or brownish-red. My phone camera didn’t seem to have any continuity when I was snapping these shots. But I’d say the bricks were manufactured here in Missouri – if I were the type to gamble on it.

Hope you enjoyed this week’s blog challenge entry. See more wonderful doors over at Dan’s No Facilities. We appreciate your visits!

  1. I am always attracted by the solid brick buildings in your part of the world. I guess those may be lookout turrets at the front and the back? And the remaining snow tells us something about the temperature. Lovely, thanks.

    • They currently use towers for training. I know this because our own small city recently built a brand new fire station and that was one of the features. Also they used to hang hose in them to dry. Thank you for pointing them out! And snow in St Louis was minimal. Just enough to keep me from driving haha So thanks to my daughter driving me around that day ☺️
