Keeping Things Handy/Sunday Sampler

It has been quite a stormy week here in Mid-Missouri! All I can say is that those winds were memorable!! Thankful that Grandma Inez’s peonies are still intact. These were once on the old farm, transplanted by my aunt, shared with my mother and now both my sister & I have replanted them once more. Here’s the latest on their growth since being transplanted last fall. Hoping to see them make it another 3 generations.

With all the storms happening there was, naturally, some lightning. In fact, our church out on the prairie was struck and the computers were damaged. So no Facebook live streams this week. We are among those counting our blessings as many had tornado damage all along the storm fronts this week. Spring has entered 2026 in a big way!

With less sewing time available, I stuck to smaller projects and hope you enjoy seeing the ‘handy’ potholders. My fabric choice of mushrooms is a nod to those out finding morels this time of year. I’d love to have some about now.

You can see my indecision of which border to use on these. I think I like the navy better than the plaid. But it’s probably a matter of personal preference. Do you have a favorite?

Bluebird HotPad

This Bluebird block was a freebie sent with a fabric purchase. I used it to check my quilting tension several times so I won’t likely list it in the shop. However, I will be on the lookout for more of these sweet bird prints!

Thanks for dropping by this week for another Sunday Sampler! Glad to have your visits!
