During the month of April, I’m participating in the Blogging From A to Z Challenge for my 4th year in a row – 3 of which are on this blog. Each day, except Sundays, there will be a post for the letter of the day as well as keeping with my personal theme of Quilts and Quotes. Feel free to leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you! Also check out the other A to Z’ers in the comment section of the Official A to Z Blog Page.
The Hopscotch block is my Letter H entry for the Challenge. I’ve made a quilt with this pattern before, but it was using string quilt blocks seen below. It was machine pieced and and hand quilted. It might be evident that I like color. chuckle
It’s a one-of-a-kind, sort of like some of the unique children’s games I’ve witnessed being created over the last 24 years as both a mother and childcare provider. The “Children” are the motive for choosing this quilt block.
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for the children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”

P.S. Your signature link on my blog today took me to a WordPress login page. I had the same result when I clicked on your link on the a-to-z challenge page. Thankfully you had left your Twitter handle so I found the correct link there.
The link that did not work: https://wordpress.com/post/slfinnell1965.wordpress.com/
Worked from Twitter: https://slfinnell1965.wordpress.com/2017/04/10/hopscotchatozchallenge/

Thanks don’t know what happened. I’ll check back after work and hopefully fix it.

Love it! It’s really lovely. It amazes me what people can do with a needle and thread and some fabric!
