Welcome to this Thursday Doors on a Saturday. Had some business to take care of before I could share with you this weekend. You’ll see that in a minute. But first, Ron & I made a little country drive in between snows. Was nice to get out and see the countryside together.

Regardless how I tried zooming in or cropping, those doors are hard to see. I’m pretty sure the lower door is a piece of plywood. But I believe the upper door is still there, weathered and darkened with age.
There’s a wedding today. With Ron’s low immunity, we cannot attend. But I’m thankful for a very supportive family. In fact, they let me crash the end of their rehearsal dinner last night so I could hand deliver my gift. I got to see the inside of the venue too. So it made a lovely backdrop for the photos I’m able to share with you today.

Dug deep into my stash for this one. I found some camou fabric as they both love to hunt, a little piece of wine fabric for one block to acknowledge Anna’s wine appreciation, and a BBQ fabric to give a nod to Aaron’s talent for smoking meats. Got as close to a Hunter green with the border as I dared with today’s color trends as Aaron is the spitting image of my grandfather. The Hunter genes run deep. But mainly I’m just very happy they loved it. Goal accomplished.

I love old barns, farmhouses, and railroads! They’re the heart and soul of America. Even if the can’t be saved, we should record them for posterity. Well done! 📸💯💕

I love old houses. Imagine its history and people who lived there. Too bad people don’t care about them. It’s the same everywhere I think. Gorgeous quilt! Their faces say it all; they love it!

[…] Once again, I have to thank one particular writerly friend – my fellow Central Avenue author Darlene Foster – who, this week, posted a writing challenge on her blog – courtesy of another writer who Darlene follows named Dan Antion. The challenge is called Thursday Doors and it is designed to encourage writers to craft a piece based on a particular image. The image Darlene chose for her own challenge piece – House Of Broken Dreams – is an evocative photograph of an abandoned homestead, captured by photographer Katy Trail Creations. […]
