It was not in my plans to miss posting on time this week, but there were a couple slight calamities. A tire blew out while on a drive to get my sewing machine repaired (no Tuesday Threads happened either). We are fine. New tires are today’s agenda. I believe we have put 190,000 miles on our old pickup. About half of that is on the set of tires we’re getting replaced. We must say we got our money’s worth out of them. The jury is still out on the sewing machine.
Here’s a view during our 3-hour wait on getting a tire changed. My soapbox today is to say a huge Thank You to the Kansas Highway Patrol Roadside Assistance. We had 2 different companies say they were ‘on their way’ over that 3 hour period. But the Highway Patrol saved the day. It was not the best situation with my husband’s health. Thank goodness for air condition and packing plenty of water. Thankfully, the spare was still in decent shape after being tucked away under the bed for 12+ years.
Did I mention I also damaged a pair of my good scissors??? Our bad luck came in a set of 3 this week. My dear hubby attempted to fix the damage, but they are truly bent. No filing will fix that. Gosh darn it!
The doors I’m featuring this week were a set taken September 1. We pass these doors quite often. Surprisingly, they are not far apart in age. The 3-story Victorian was built in 1891 and is currently under Foreclosure. The inside is partially gutted according to the latest online photos and has no bathroom. That might be a slight deal breaker if wanting to live in and renovate simultaneously. The smaller home beside it is a 1900 build. The corner porch is a lovely little frame for that door! I think each door offers entry to home history that I’d love to read about. Maybe someday I’ll get to it.

Thanks for your visit today! I hope you can find time to visit Dan @NoFacilities for more door goodness. He has the directions for all the door posts from around the world. Have a wonderful weekend ahead!

Sorry about your woes in triplicate. I’m glad you weren’t hurt. I think I feel worst about the scissors. I know what it’s like to break a favorite hand tool. Great doors. The Victorian shows a lot of promise. Too bad it seems to need so much work.
Thanks! Probably helped I wasnโt the driver ha Guess Iโll make a scissors request for my birthday or Christmas. Usually donโt know what to ask for. The old house is going to need a little extra care for sure.
I’m so sorry to hear of the troubles. I have received help from the Highway police. It is disconcerting to wait for help at the roadside.
Great photos. Although the Victorian house is in need of some TLC, the exterior has some good bones. Hopefully, someone will restore it in the near future.
You are so right about how unsettling it is to wait. All the cars who got just a little too close (as we all know they were probably distracted drivers) was the worst part. Thank you for your kind thoughts. Always welcome your visits โบ๏ธ
You are welcome.
I think I’ll live in the little house next door and let them use my bathroom while they remodel in exchange for lifetime rights to their third-floor turret.
My sympathies on your bad week, and bad indeed it was! I sure hope that group of three took care of all bad luck for a long while!
I believe that would be the best of both worlds. Iโm not one for lots of steps. lol
I just needed to complain on money losses as of course new tires were needed on top of the sewing machine repair. But I found a scissors option so not all is lost thankfully.
Have a great week ahead!
