The (former) Sedalia Democrat

Spent entirely too long searching for a photo for my Thursday Doors entry this week. And I never found it. So maybe it’ll show up later? In the mean time, you get my 2nd choice and I hope to do it justice. Just around the corner from this building was where I was working when I met my dear hubby. (another future post) But we had a lot of foot traffic from the employees of this local newspaper office. So here’s a little salute to those times.

This newspaper is still around, owned by a company in another state though. So they downsized to 2 publications per week, and moved to a little building further downtown. We used to subscribe until it became priced out of our range. Folks hardly ever post obituaries in this paper anymore due to being so overpriced. If this sounds like a soapbox, it’s probably because it is.

Blaming my ill temper this morning on the heavily laden B2’s that woke us up at 12:25 AM. Never had them literally shake our bed when flying over before! Very unnerving. For those who serve, our prayers are always for your safe-keeping! Here’s a photo from home for any fellow Missourians on their tour of duty, including our nephew.

I hope you’ll check out our host, Dan @NoFacilities for all the wonderful door posts from around the world. I assure you, they found all their photos 😉

  1. Great photos for the challenge, and that sunrise is amazing. We have been woken up by C-130s and Chinook helicopters either going somewhere or practicing. We’re 2 miles from the airport. The B2s are flying into harm’s way. Our prayers are with all those who serve.
