It’s turning colder here this 7th day of December, 2025! We’ve had a couple cold snaps and they keep coming back. But it’s winter and that’s how that works. And it’s when working on quilts keeps the fingers nimble. Arthritis is knocking at the door these days so doing what I can to help. Quilting, snuggling with the cat, banjo-pickin’. You know, the usual. 😉
Here’s a pic of The Goodest Girl…..Cynder Louise.

She was eyeing my last bite of egg this morning and never once tried to get some for herself. She has been trying to eat the flocking off the Christmas tree though. That life lesson has not been learned yet.
Had a request from my Mother-in-law to make a basket for her pill bottles. She was tired of them just sitting openly on her counter. Red & black were her color choices at so I perused some Pinterest pages and decided to try the tutorial from Connie Kresin‘s website. She’s had several people post their results so I figured I could make this work too. Plus they are Fat Quarter Friendly. Always a bonus!

I think it turned out well enough. I liked the fact that I only had to use normal batting. I prefer to use what I have and not purchase ‘special’ notions that I’ll only use once or twice. So if you’re needing an easy basket idea, this one worked out well for me. Note: I started out with 2, 18 inch squares of fabric & used the 2 1/2 inch corners she mentions in the tuturial.
A little Christmas humor from Grandma Hunter for your week ahead.
