701 East Boonslick Street, Warrenton

Today’s doors are from Warrenton, Missouri. Another drive-by capture while driving home from St. Louis. We took a back way to avoid the I-70/I-64 interchange due to the congestion that’s a serious problem there. We’re all about peace and tranquility. So on that note, I present the College United Methodist Church. A lovely, brick building that has some very cool history.

The history is strong with these Christians. It all began in 1864 with a need to serve orphans from the Civil War. Also, it was their intention to double as an institution of higher learning for those youth, and others, at this church in the west. Tugs at my heart for sure! And it’s pretty great to see it still standing and operational. For more of the story click here.

You could not have asked for a better blue-sky-backdrop. No Filters! I noticed when posting the final pic there’s a ghost window on the right brick portion. I think the bricked ‘windows’ in the upper tower were intentional though. These irregularities seem to go along with their statement, We are imperfect people seeking to be devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Yep, we all fall short.

Doing a lot of ‘making’ at the machines. The big sale and the Christbaumfest are over for another year, so time to put together more items. Got a couple requests to complete as well as a stash of ideas to bring to fruition. The potholder I listed in the shop today is a jewel-tone fabric design.

I have been holding back on this fabric for awhile now. Hubs found it for me a few years ago. Winter seems like the time to offer them up. More block styles coming this week. Hope you can click the link and drop on over! Til next time,

Thanks to Dan @ NoFacilities for another week of hosting the Thursday Doors Challenge. How can it be 5 years already, Dan?? I hope you’ll take a few to stop over at his place so he can direct you to other wonderful door entries from around the world. Oh, and he has some books for sale too! I highly recommend his writing!
