Continuing on the Kansas Aviation Museum tour this weekend. Thursday Doors on a Saturday once again with many goings on. More on that in a future post. So let’s get to the photos of the exhibits showing female contributions — and those uniforms! Being the fabric connoisseur, I could not resist focusing on the couture outfits women were obliged to wear for work. I decided to put my thoughts in the captions for ease of reading and hope you’ll click to discover the details.

If in Wichita, I’d recommend this museum even if you’re not an aviation buff. There is lots to learn and I look forward to sharing more next week. In the meantime, please take a few to visit Dan @NoFacilities for more Thursday Doors entries.

These are great photos. The photo of the vintage luggage made me smile. My mother had that red TWA bag, and she brought it on vacations every year. Thanks for that one!

It would be a whole other kind of museum with someone who knew fabric and sewing! Those skirts sure took me back. How those women did everything they did in those uniforms is beyond me. As always, a good laugh from the banjo humor.

Wow! Fascinating point about the stitching. That must have taken a lot of time and attention! Great post.
