One of many sunrises on the road

For those who recognize Halloween, hope you have a good one! I’m on the road this Thursday Doors and so I’ll be trying to keep this post on the simple side. Let’s see how that plays out. *Please click on the photos for a full view without the annoying blur. Not sure when this started??

Crick-Christians Funeral Home was established in 1932. Located in Lindsborg, Kansas, it was originally the residence of C. R. Carlson who built it in 1885. It’s had quite a few different owners over the years. It’s good to find out that each has done well choosing its successors. I have attached a link to the site here for more details and some older photos of the home. Looking pretty good after nearly 140 years!

Dear Hubs acquired a passel of quilt tops for me back in 2019 before the world turned upside down. The following is one I recently finished and is available in the Etsy shop. But first you may want to know the song I’m playing: “All the Good Times Are Past and Gone”. It’s a typical, mournful kind of song – appropriate for Halloween in my humble opinion. Etsy only allows 15 second videos so it won’t take much of your time. In case you’re curious to the words, it goes something like this…..

Song by Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt

I wish to the Lord I’d never been born
or died when I was young
I never would have seen your sparkling Blue-Eyes
or heard your lying tongue
all the good times are past and gone
all the good times are ore
all the good times are past and gone
Little Darlin Don’t You Weep no more

  1. Great doors and I enjoyed the music. The quilt is beautiful.

With respect to the blur, I have opened a case with the Happiness Engineers, but so far, they’re casting it as a necessary feature (even though we did quite well without it before). I suggested they should allow us to decide whether or not we want to use it.
