Divying out the Missouri barns for a few more Thursday Doors. I hope you’ll enjoy my finds. Growing up in rural Missouri, I’ve seen my fair share, but they don’t last forever for many different reasons. So….being we’re social distancing and the drives are allowed around here, I’m taking the chance to capture some discoveries.

Ivy gives the appearance there’s a tree growing in front of this barn.

From the Farmer’s Almanac, “Rust was plentiful on farms and because it killed fungi and mosses that might grow on barns, and it was very effective as a sealant. It turned the mixture red in color. When paint became more available, many people chose red paint for their barns in honor of tradition.

A little garden goodness to share. First time I’ve used netting to keep the ‘cabbage moths’ from laying their eggs. Pretty pleased with it. Side note: It also helps protect from the pelting of hail.
