I Did a Thing/ Tuesday Threads

Tuesday Threads Badge

A life of being frugal requires one to watch out for bargains. I had a reason for needing that a certain second-hand-something in recent days. I learned just one more way that age is creeping up on me when I finished cutting out another Double Wedding Ring quilt, Trigger Finger presented itself in all its glory. I have known for quite some time that I’m susceptible to arthritis. Not an earth shattering realization. So I have kind of kept a ‘thing’ in my back pocket for my future in being a quilter/sewer…… An Accu Quilt.

And guess what was on Marketplace with both a good price and good seller reviews? Yep.

I not only found the machine, but it included 3 sets of dies! Score!! I will now be on the lookout for one particular die set on my wish list. But first, I will be playing with the THIRTEEN quilt block options that come with that middle set of dies. I will venture to say there are many more but that just comes with having some years in quilting under the belt. And I must say how adorable a train car applique can be! Can I just request about 100 more years of life to accomplish everything??? So much fabric, too little time!

A quick Thanks must be included to the seller who was more than accommodating on a meet up date and location. If you find a good seller, leave them the reviews. Paying back good for the good in the world is just one way we set examples for the next generation.

Now on to the American Heritage Quilt Blocks for this week. Another long day trip to doctors kept me from getting too many blocks made, once again. But, to keep you updated, we are doing well here with great physicians, thorough exams and great plans of action. God’s got this! So to meander back to the topic of blocks, here are #8 & #9.

I really need to get to work cutting the sashings soon. This will help me feel better about the cohesiveness of my fabric choices. With Sampler quilts, this is the part where you have fabric choice doubts. Was my dark red too dark? Or was my medium red not quite right? I keep reminding myself it’s all part of the creative journey. A collage with blocks side by side is a plan for another post to alleviate my worries.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Tuesday Threads! Please come back often and see what’s going on here doing life along the Katy Trail!
