A Big Year in Quilting

I have some quilting stats this year. Just for my own edification, I wanted to see how much I’ve accomplished. Turns out this was a bumper crop year for my quilting machine. Taking into account that the machine was out of commission for 8 weeks, (Nearly had to be shipped to Switzerland!!!) I am very happy to see all the completed projects in the finished category. By the way, that near miss ticket across the pond was averted thanks to the fine people in Overland Park, Kansas @Windmill Sewing Center. Just wanted to give them props here.

So now for the photo collage.

You know you’re a quilter when your lint roller is your best friend, your ‘stash’ of fabric is bigger than your actual closet, you measure life in 1/4 inch increments, and “bobbin chicken” sounds like a sport. when your lint roller is your best friend, your “stash” of fabric is bigger than your actual closet, you measure life in 1/4-inch increments, and “bobbin chicken” sounds like a sport.

The Stats

  • 6 Double Wedding Ring Quilts
  • 2 Wedding Quilts
  • 1 Panel Quilt
  • 4 Hexi Table Runners
  • 2 Table Runners
  • 5 Mini Quilts
  • lots of miscellaneous pot holders & extras not included in the collage.

To be clear, the DWR’s were just quilted by yours truly. The tops were an estate purchase. Still have a little under a dozen of these left for the coming year. Keep your eyes peeled. They are so satisfying to finish! I even have my own templates for future DWR quilts on the ready.

Honorable Mention

The quilt above deserves mention as a ‘reveal’ in 2025. It was finished in ’24 but I was sworn to secrecy until after Christmas. You can read more about it here. So, although not included in the stats, it is a reveal I’m glad to recall.

Thanks so much for following my progress this past year! I wish you all the best for 2026 with plenty of good health & happiness.
