Welcome to this year’s A to Z Challenge! This year I’m talking Child Care. I’ll be blogging topics related to my many years in the family home daycare profession. I hope you can find a tidbit of information that is useful in caring for children whether you’re a parent, grand or another important person in a child’s life. And to end each post, I’ll share a bit of my creative side/relaxation time. Taking time for yourself is good for your health–both yours and your family’s 😉
Cheeser Smiles Someone thought I’d look cute with a gigantic hat 😉
Don’t you think that after the billionth bowl of cheerios, you would ask yourself how your brain is wired to take this rather than have the freedom of getting drive-thru each day on a commute to work? And why is my cholesterol not perfect? God has a sense of humor here obviously. Nonetheless, laughter abounds and I have plenty of giggles during my day.
- Do you knock knock? You should
- Play peek-a-boo 50,000 times? Yep just to see those smiles
- See how many kids you can fit on your lap? But of course
- Do you have a Joke tub? A valuable weapon against that rascal called boredom
- Ever do the Tooty-Ta with unbridled abandon? Just the title should make you chuckle
I get to ‘guess’ who this is sometimes. And decide if it’s worth calling them out for peeking 😉 Nope. They always hide the object in the same spot anyway lolol
One of my favorite things to bring a smile to my families is to document conversations. I keep a deck of cards with all kinds of topics and questions to get kids talking. (I’ll share these at Letter X so hope you’ll look forward to this post). Even children with limited verbal skills get the benefit of hearing language, getting the benefit of social skills and the ultimate benefit of emotional engagement.
The creativity of the evening was on the boring side again. And after that clip above, it just doesn’t fit here anyway. hehe This post is therefore dedicated totally to the children. Psalm 127:3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Be thankful for yours and hug them more than usual! They’re only little for awhile.

Humor is so important in all aspects of life. The funny experiences I had when my children were young was one of the reasons I got into memory keeping. Weekends In Maine

A heritage indeed.
Thanks I needed to see the lighter side of life. I have been on medical podcasts for updates and there is little to smile about.
Keep them laughing – I feel the same way with the elderly. Health and humor have a connection.
Blessings to you and your brood.

What a fun post — thanks for the much needed diversion from the grim C19 newscasts.
