Coffee Bar & Tiles of Hope

The Badge

Thank goodness our host is flexible on his door governing! I have a door, but it’s just for the sake of having a door. This post will mostly be about some tiles that I feel need some attention. Encouragement, motivation and uplifting are words I’d use to describe these lovely bits of painting that have been combined into works of art. And they are not just for cancer patients. We all need a little bit of this heartwarming fuel for the soul.

The coffee bar is pretty nice for a self-serve kind. But no matter how you dress up hospital coffee, it only seems to provide just the stimulation needed when you get a 3:30 AM wake up call. Nothing can really be said for flavor. I really don’t want to be a hospital coffee authority, just for the record. But maybe someone else can testify to my thoughts being right or wrong? I’m all ears.

There was no visible information telling me how long they’ve had these tiles on display. I wish I’d been able to capture them all but, you know, people start staring and get uncomfortable thinking I’m getting them inside my lens. But the participants certainly deserve a grand salute. To see salute-worthy doors, please visit Dan @ No Facilities. He will show you where to find them.

  1. Doors are important, coffee even more so, but the tiles, well, the tiles tell stories of families maneuvering a challenging medical highway. Our local Mass General Cancer center is about ten minutes from our home. The parking lot is always busy, and the waiting areas are sometimes standing room only. Families on this journey have been through a lot and prayers to each and every one.
