Cozy Corner For Today

This has been the winter I’ve needed more long sleeved shirts. What I’m trying to say is we’ve definitely had our share of cold this year. And Wind. The Wind!!! Goodness sakes! I cannot count the number of times I’ve told my dear daughter in Wichita to close the doors to her Kansan hurricane force gales. So spending today by the quilter once again and not venturing outside except for emergency. It’ll be dropping from 64 to 16 with 40mph wind gusts. Hibernation comes to mind.

But before get to the quilting, sharing a little bit of the past week.

Had a delivery yesterday when the temps were 71 and sunshine was aplenty. My favorite Girl Scouts, also known as past Daycare Gals, made a drop off of cookies to go with my afternoon coffee breaks. There’s Lemonades & Chocolate Chip to choose from now. But the best part is the visits and catching up. So much to tell and hear from a truly fantastic family. Hugs to them always!!

Next on the week’s agenda was ordering more batting. I have been saving some gift cards and I have a little idea to share with you, Dear Readers. The blue in the photo may clue you in on which store I am referring to. (It’s not The Warm Company) But anyway, this particular store will not let you use a gift card + another payment method if it’s not Their gift card. So my youngest did me a huge favor and walked into that brick & mortar store to buy a Store gift card with my combined Other Type gift cards so I could make my online purchase in one fell swoop. Crisis Averted. At least as long as my order arrives.

Using up some scraps this week for some quilted postcards. I’ll have to share them after Easter since I don’t want to spoil the surprise. But look for a post on greeting cards in a future Sunday Sampler. I’m eager to share yet another way to use up scraps of fabric. This time, I have the finished items below to post for you.

I did a lazy method of binding the mini quilt when it comes to joining. But since it’s just for me, I’m not too fussy on these things. Any future ones will have a nice, neat binding join. The hexie runner is just another use of scraps that I’m about finished with. Borders, binding & Presto! Done.

Thanks for joining me here again with my journaling of handmade items from my sewing room.
