Snow Fluff

The Sunday Sampler Badge

Happy to say we’ve survived the recent snow event relatively unscathed here in Mid Missouri. About 4-5 inches of snow, no power outages and plenty of time indoors to stay cozy– and quilt of course. Before the event, I was finally able to give my favorite sister her birthday gift.

She actually got 2 runners. But who’s counting 😉 She will be set for Christmas and Spring of 2026. We both kind of felt this was a Springy kind of color scheme. Guess we’ll have to come up with an Autumn and a Summer variety next. I am just going to add, I’m not doing another bold thread move on borders anymore. It’s ok, but unless I’m making feathers or fancy loops, the lattice should be in a matching thread. Life lesson. I’m thankful my sister is a gracious recipient.

Scrappy Hexi Flowers

Besides working on the latest Double Wedding Ring quilt, I’ve been working on these hexi flowers. They are done English Paper Piecing style, or also known as EPP. Each hexigon fabric shape is laying on a paper piece, turned under, basted and then sewn together in various patterns. Flowers are probably the most common. Perfect project to do while listening to a great audiobook or following your favorite tv series or movie. I like having no two alike. Kind of like snowflakes or, “Snow Fluff”.
