I have been buried in. Not in snow, thankfully, although we could use the precipitation for the farmers. But in finding just the right combination of fabrics for a quilt request. I am determined to use only what I have on hand for this one. And once a fabric hoarder starts investigating their stash, there’s no turning back. A quilter will search high and low to have the perfect combination of fabrics for said quilt. As I was choosing photos for today’s post, I happened along an Inez’s Clipping that depicts the mess I’ve made.
While I don’t live next to railroad yards, the dust I can raise in these searches would definitely be comparable. Fun fact: There used to be railroad yards just behind my home. But I digress. Gallery below is some of the progress I’m making once all is said and done.

This is all probably gibberish to those who aren’t familiar with quilting. But for someone (yours truly) who deeply detested math in school, I visualize those teachers having the last laugh. Algebra was the only class that kept me from the honor roll my whole high school existence. But knowing a ratio formula has saved me from many cutting tragedies. And kept me from buying more pattern books. Funny how these things work out. Kids, stay in school!
