My collaboration with my youngest daughter has been a success once again. She revisited our state capitol on a return trip home not too long ago. As it happened to be at night (without rain I may add), opportunity knocked and she opened that door! So thankful for her generous door-donation this Thursday. Hope you enjoy the photos and a few inserted captions and comments below.

A few points to interject before the next 2 photos. A popular belief is that the statue of Jefferson at our state capitol is one of the best in existence. He has 2 other memorials at the capitol. One for the Louisiana Purchase and another for the Corps of Discovery. There is a Link here to look at if you are interested in links to various topics pertaining to Thomas Jefferson. He had what I’d call a very full life. I have several posts with Jefferson City as a tag but one of my favorites is here and it’s pertaining to quilting. I’d still like to make a whole quilt with this block. Bucket List Agenda.

Under Missouri law, all judges other than municipal judges, must retire at age 70. I personally have mixed feelings on this topic but then, we would veer into politics so I will go no further. Missouri has a history of making extreme and shocking decisions in its highest court. I could name a few but I’d rather let you look up that information on your own. But instead, I’d head on over to Dan’s @ No Facilities to see what else is going on in the world of Thursday Doors. A much calmer way to spend your day!

A beautiful theme and gallery to show doors and architecture at night. Fabulous!!

The night photos are stunning. Jefferson is a favorite of mine, so I like that photo in particular.

Applause for the photographer. I checked out the quilt block post and enjoyed the mandatory retirement at 70. I wish some other political positions had the same requirement. 🙂

Late in answering this am. Dr appointments call. Ron’s back to driving so making progress. I appreciate your applause for my girl 😊 I know many over 70 who have so much knowledge to share but fresh ideas are needed too. I’m sitting on the fence on this one. Not usually one for that. Thanks for dropping by!

I had to go look at the quilt, of course, since sewing is way beyond me, and that was good, but even better was the quote from Betty Grable. Thanks! And thanks to your daughter too — those are some handsome night-time photos!

I agree about the age limit dilemma. Politics indeed. I had family up in Brookfield years ago.
