Last Sunday was so beautiful! Temps at or around 65 degrees. But instead of venturing out, we watched the Super Bowl. So with that, I am naturally headed back in time with an archive retrieval. This is a revisit to my hometown, Green Ridge, Missouri, circa 2018. I’ve had a few posts on this small town before here and here. Today’s pics are a normal sight in any farm community and taken for granted by us I’m sure as a regular fixture. Hopefully these captures give some appreciation both to the structures and to those who operate them. Most definitely sending my appreciation to our farmers whose hard work fill them each harvest season.

It’s not logical for anyone to expect you to be out looking for doors when the Chiefs were playing in the Super Bowl. 🙂

We have similar farm buildings here. It would be great to travel back to 1882 and buy some of that land at those prices and then return to the present day as the owner. 🙂

I love that the Chiefs won and it was one of the best Super Bowls recently. Thanks for a glance at the farm life. It’s a hard life but one we all need people to do and should always appreciate.

Thank you! Definitely harder than many know. Most farmers I know work an extra job just to stay afloat. I know they also appreciate the kind words.

My grandparents on my dad’s side lived on the farm. I loved visiting but of course we didn’t have to do the really hard work. My grandpa’s tractor didn’t have any of the amenities today’s do. You sat out in the rain, sun, wind, dust, cold…whatever came along. You had to go out in whatever the weather was to take care of the animals. It’s a bit easier in some ways now, but it’s still a difficult life and not lucrative. I won’t even get into those big, awful farms!
