During the month of April, I’m participating in the Blogging From A to Z Challenge for my 4th year in a row – 3 of which are on this blog. Each day, except Sundays, there will be a post for the letter of the day as well as keeping with my personal theme of Quilts and Quotes. Feel free to leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you! Also check out the other A to Z’ers in the comment section of the Official A to Z Blog Page.
Since I’ve chosen the “Indian” block for Letter I, I’ll include some stats of our county per the 1882 History of Pettis County, Missouri. That is it was published 1882 so the stats would be from 1880 respectively.
As you may have noticed in the census report, Native is not referring to Native Americans. Just pointing that out. They are apparently null and void. Typical. And sad. Could be a hint into the reason my Grandmother was a bit shy and hesitant about her heritage don’t ya think?!
Anyhoo, I took the DNA plunge last week and trying to see what my gene pool holds. “They had a sale” is my mantra and so I saved a few dimes when I made my decision to try this out. I hope it’s quite a colorful result, making me a true Heinz 57 variety of American. Stay tuned for this topic to unfold. Could be some real surprises. Or not.
I think this one is one of my favorites. Easy peasy to make too!
Not a quote necessarily, but a good saying.
Join me again tomorrow for more of the April A to Z Blog Challenge 2017!
