As this is the first Thursday following our national election day, I’ve saved a particular photo of a favorite house from my city. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve passed this one in my lifetime. It’s on a very well-traveled street in the middle of Sedalia, Missouri.
Presenting a”White House” pic for my Thursday Doors entry. This is a drive-by photo as it’s at a pretty busy intersection. This is 803 West Broadway. This section of Broadway was recently named after Scott Joplin, whose Missouri hometown was Sedalia, Missouri. But I have yet to hear a local say 803 Scott Joplin Memorial Highway.
According to a real estate website, this home, on .53 acres, was built in 1925.
But I wonder what the 1878 means on the bottom of that post??
Maybe it now has 2 addresses??
Based upon how people mark their historic houses up here, I’d guess 1878 may be the year the house was built. It’s a beauty. 🙂

Wish I had money to restore it.

Me too! I’d much rather have a home like this than the modern cookie cutter variety.
